Please Note That There Are Stringent Regulations Governing the Operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Within The Washington, D.C., Area. Specifically, Flights Within a 15-Mile Radius of Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) Fall Under The Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) and the Flight Restricted Zone (FRZ), Where Drone Operations Are Highly Restricted. UAS Flights Within The FRZ Require A Waiver From The FAA And The TSA Which Can Take Up To 90 Days To Process.
Other Flight Restrictions Apply Outside the FRZ That May Require FAA Authorization Which Can Take 3 Days for Processing. These Restrictions Apply Depending on Proximity to Local Airport Airspace Such as That Surrounding Dulles, Leesburg, and Manassas Airports.
While John Gervasi PhotoArts will Process All Waivers and Authorization Requests, Please Keep These Restrictions and Processing Times in Mind When Planning and Scheduling Your Project.
